Flat pricing, boring bills

26 May 2026·3 min read·Rock8Cloud

The worst time to learn how your infrastructure bill works is the morning after a launch goes well. A post hits the front page. Traffic 10בs for an afternoon. Then the invoice 10בs too, and the celebration is over.

Usage-based pricing scales with the platform, not with you. It’s a bill that grows with your stress. We didn’t want to build that.

Flat tiers, no meter#

Rock8Cloud has five tiers, and you always know which one you’re on:

TierPriceFor
Pluto€3/moStarter
Mercury€12/moHobby
Earth€49/moTeam
Neptune€499/moScale
EnterprisecustomCustom limits, dedicated support, on-prem

Pay annually and the rate drops - Mercury, for example, comes down to €10/mo.

Every plan includes a fixed pool of CPU and memory - Mercury gets 1.5 vCPU and 1.5 GiB, Earth gets 6 vCPU and 6 GiB - and you split it across your services however you like. Each service starts at a sensible default and you can resize it in small steps, up or down. Sleeping services use nothing.

No per-request meter. No egress surprise. No “you used 1.2× your build minutes” line item. The number you agree to is the number you pay - at 10 visitors or 10,000.

But what if I need more#

You buy more, on purpose. Extra CPU and memory come as fixed-price monthly add-ons - a set amount per 0.25 vCPU or 256 MiB unit, cheaper on higher plans. You pick the quantity, you see the new monthly total before you commit, and you can change it anytime. Or you move up a tier and the pool grows with it. Either way it’s a decision you make, not one a traffic spike makes for you.

The point isn’t that resources are infinite. It’s that the pricing is legible. You can put a real number in next quarter’s budget and trust it. And if you ever hit your pool’s ceiling, we tell you - no silent overages, no metered top-up you discover on the invoice.

There’s no per-seat math, either - one flat price per organization, your whole team included.

Seats are always unlimited, because in the age of AI agents, half of them might be agents anyway.

The trade we’re making#

Every plan is a fixed resource pool - a ceiling you can see and control. There’s no meter ticking in the background, so a traffic spike never turns into a line item, and a good day never turns into a bigger bill.

We don’t swallow the cost of scaling. We make it predictable. Need more power? You choose it - resize a service, add fixed-price units, or move up a tier - and you see the new number before you commit. The trade is simple: you give up infinite auto-scaling, and you get a bill you can forecast to the cent.

Predictable beats cheap. A bill you can forecast is worth more than one that’s occasionally lower and occasionally terrifying.

The predictability runs deeper than the price, too. Your app runs on our managed cloud, in EU-sovereign data centers in Germany - we build Rock8Cloud from Czechia - so you know where your data lives, not just what it costs.

And there’s no lock-in waiting at the end of it. Everything runs on open, standard tech: Postgres, Redis (Dragonfly), and S3. Outgrow us, or need your data on your own servers for compliance, and on Enterprise we’ll help you run Rock8Cloud on your own infrastructure - on-prem or in your private cloud. We’d rather earn your business every month than trap you in it.
